Taking on research data from almost ten thousand consumers in sixteen countries from the IRIS network, a global network of independent local research agencies for which FDS International is the UK representative, 3000ft created the Supporting Sport 2008 report, published in May 2008. 3000ft added value by creating a number of attitudinal indices that factored out response biases, burrowed into demographic explanations for international differences, and produced some creative data representations, using 3D scatter plots and 'small multiple' spider diagrams to bring the data to life. Our analysis covers broader issues of interest and participation and maps out international variations for specific sports, then proceeds to the specifics of channel use, attitudes to sponsorship, and awareness of individual sports personalities and sponsors; we also included a series of 'focus point' sections, to pick out specific debates and issues of interest.
